A lifestyle cart (sometimes called an LSV or low-speed vehicle) is built for everyday use — neighborhoods, resorts, campgrounds, and short commutes — with higher top speeds (typically 19–25 mph), better suspension, premium seating, lights, and on-road features like turn signals and seat belts. How much does a golf cart cost?
Whisper Outdoor golf carts typically range from around $7,000 for two-passenger entry models to $15,000+ for premium six-passenger lifestyle carts with full lithium battery packs, premium audio, lighting packages, and lift kits. Because we manufacture our carts in Tennessee and sell factory-direct through our own 90+ showrooms, our pricing typically runs well below comparably equipped lifestyle carts at traditional dealers. Every cart includes a lithium battery pack as standard — no upcharge.
Are Whisper Outdoor golf carts street legal?
Many of our models are street-legal as Low-Speed Vehicles (LSVs) when properly equipped — meaning they meet federal LSV requirements (headlights, turn signals, seat belts, mirrors, windshield, VIN). State and local laws then determine where LSVs can be operated, with most states allowing LSVs on roads with posted speed limits of 35 mph or less. Yes — every Whisper Outdoor golf cart ships standard with a lithium-ion battery pack. No lead-acid option, no upcharge, no compromise. We made lithium standard because it delivers a measurably better ownership experience: 8–10+ year lifespan (versus 4–6 years for lead-acid), faster charging, lighter weight, more consistent power throughout the charge cycle, and effectively zero maintenance. We also offer lead-acid and gas-powered options for those who prefer them.
How long do golf cart batteries last?
A quality lithium-ion battery pack — like the one that comes standard on every Whisper Outdoor cart — lasts 8–10 years or longer with normal use, often outlasting two full lead-acid replacements over the same period. Lead-acid packs typically last 4–6 years and degrade noticeably in their final year. When the time comes to replace, we stock lithium replacements for every Whisper Outdoor cart, plus lithium upgrade kits for owners of older lead-acid carts ready to make the switch.

How do I take delivery of my cart?
Most Whisper Outdoor carts are delivered through our 90+ retail showroom network, where you can pick up your cart in person, take a walk-through with a Whisper Outdoor team member, and ask any setup or maintenance questions before driving home. Home delivery is also available in many markets — your local showroom can confirm options and timing. Either way, every cart is fully assembled, tested, and ready to use on arrival.
