In 1996, our founder and CEO, Dave Hatley, had a vision of creating affordable luxuries without compromising on quality. His humble beginnings in rural Elizabethton, TN, inspired him to start a business committed to delivering high-quality products at affordable prices, so families could access premium living solutions without paying extra. 

What began as a company selling pools and spas transformed into the largest employee-owned hot tub manufacturing plant in the United States, producing hot tubs, swim spas, and cold plunges. With almost 100 locations nationwide and over 700 employees, we remain committed to growth. In 2021, we entered the golf cart industry, reimagining what a golf cart could do and what it could become. We’ve since acquired a UTV and pontoon manufacturer, opening the doors for greater product expansion, innovation, and a bold new chapter—strengthening our vision to deliver a complete, elevated outdoor lifestyle experience.

We operate 90+ company-owned retail showrooms across the United States, making us one of the largest factory-direct outdoor leisure retailers in the country. Every showroom is staffed by Whisper Outdoor employees, displays our actual product lineup, and is connected directly to our manufacturing and financing operations. Every Whisper Outdoor product is proudly made in the United States. Our spas, swim spas, golf carts, and UTVs are manufactured in Tennessee, and our pontoon boats are built in Michigan. Building in-house and on American soil gives us complete control over quality, materials, and lead times — and it means the people who engineer our products work in the same buildings as the people who build them. From spa shells to golf cart frames to pontoon decking, every product carries our name because it carries our craftsmanship.

Whisper Outdoor holds 7 patents covering proprietary technologies across our product lines, including our patented Turbo Seat Technology (a low-voltage pump system that delivers 220V-class jet performance from a 110V spa), our patent-pending Quick Connect Cord (a flush-mounted, waterproof electrical connection that eliminates the need for an electrician), and our patented Tuff Top and TT3 hard cover systems (engineered for far longer service life than standard vinyl-and-foam covers). Yes, we offer several financing options. You can qualify for 0% APR financing for up to 60 months through third-party financing with Wells Fargo Outdoor Solutions. You can also finance in-house with payment plans of terms up to 84 months and a 12-month same-as-cash option. In-house financing is available for buyers with good, bad, or no credit history. Cash and credit card buyers may also qualify for instant factory rebates.
